Leonardo joins artists and public leaders at the Global Citizen Festival

Leonardo DiCaprio joins Pearl Jam, Beyonce, Coldplay and many artists on stage at the 2015 Global Citizen Festival on September 26th. The Festival will be hosted by Stephen Colbert, Olivia Wilde, Hugh Jackman and others celebrating the adoption of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations — designed to fight inequality, protect our planet, and end extreme poverty by 2030.

60,000 people will descend on New York City’s Central Park to participate in the 2015 Global Citizen Festival but you can also watch the concert via livestream on MSNBC.

Other notable participants from 400 different organizations include Ban Ki-Moon, Bill and Melinda Gates, U2 lead singer Bono, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, Sir Richard Branson, World Bank President Dr Jim Yong Kim, Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, and many public more.

From the private sector, leading advocates, including: Facebook Chairman and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg; Unilever CEO, Paul Polman; CEO of Gucci, Marco Bizzarri; H&M Conscious Foundation Acting Global Manager, Maria Bystedt; Caterpillar Foundation President, Michele Sullivan; Stephen Bird, CEO of Global Consumer Banking, Citi, Ericsson Group President and CEO, Hans Vestberg; Wikipedia Founder Jimmy Wales; AOL CEO Tim Armstrong, and many more business leaders. 

The 2015 Global Citizen Festival will also feature on-stage video messages and commitments from Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi; President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos; and Vice President of Malawi, Saulos Chilima. The First Daughter of Rwanda, Ange Kagame; her father President Paul Kagame; South African WASH Minister, Nomvula Mokonyane; USAID Acting Administrator Ambassador Alfonso E. Lenhardt, and the President of Malawi, His Excellency Pro. Arthur Peter Mutharika will also appear during the Festival.
